About Chris

Originally from Lawrence Kansas, this is my 20th year of photography work. I started off quite literally as child who developed an interest in taking pictures. For the most part I am a self-taught photographer brought on through an early education by my step father. At the age of 13 I wanted to test my artistic ability, so against my family's wishes I entered a photograph in the Douglas county fair taking home the grand champion award for that year.

The goal of my art is to capture what one may or may not see in their every day lives. I live to make art for myself but I try to encourage others through it. My art work is made out of every day objects ranging from the human body to graffiti to man made buildings. In my newest set of work, I show two images side by side. In one image you see every day surroundings. Beautiful man made and nature shots. The second image is the same shot but with a nameless, nude female torso in it. This is to demonstrate a full circle of everything that is beautiful. Underneath it all, I feel that we are all the same in the eyes of the world. Everything can be beautiful. It just depends how much we are willing to open our eyes.
